Since the first time I met you when I moved to London, your capacity for warmth, humour and infectious enthusiasm meant I always felt so welcome in your company, and always enjoyed any time spent with you. You welcomed me into your home when I needed a place to stay in between moving flats, and have also been so generous to me and my wife Laura. From quiz nights to walking up mountains, there are so many good times (some of the best of my life) that I look back on now and it’s no coincidence that you were there and a big part of making it so much fun. I’ll never forget our trip to the Lakes that turned into a circus when our tents got flooded and we ended up having to beg the manager at a full-up travel lodge to let us stay the night to get out of the storm. Or when you casually dropped ‘World In Motion’ on a duke box in a pub near Ben Nevis, and rapped along with John Barnes as the Scottish locals looked on in fury. Priceless. I’ll miss the many more good times we should have all enjoyed together in the future, but cherish those we shared. The world is a little less of a fun, warm and enthusiastic place without you. Rest in peace, we’ll miss you Gav.
